Apart from say Country musician Hunter Hayes' secured top spot on the iTunes Top Albums chart this week with his sophomore album Storyline, he's now set his blue eyes on breaking the Guinness World Record for most shows performed in different cities in 24 hours.
The 22-year-old artist on Friday and Saturday will attempt to play 10 live shows in 10 cities within 24 hours. If successful, he will surpass the record set by Flaming Lips, the rock band who in 2012 performed eight shows in 24 hours to steal the record away from Jay Z
Hayes said"It seems like a fun challenge, adding that each show will be 15 to 20 minutes long, with two of the shows featuring a completely acoustic set.
Hayes, who can play more than 30 instruments, catapulted into fame in 2012 with his breakout single "Wanted." He has since accomplished several things he once thought were just dreams such as sharing the stage with Stevie Wonder, earning four Grammy nominations, premiering a song ("Invisible") at the Grammys and meeting Garth Brooks.
Hayes will start the grueling record attempt — dubbed the 24 Hour Road Race — on Friday morning at Central Park during Good Morning America before hopping on a private plane to get to the second show in Boston. From there, Hayes will give performances in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
reminding himself of past vicrotories Haye said"I know I’ve stayed up for 24 hours several times before and there is a time when you get a little delirious, but then you reach a point where you're running on automatic", Hayes will get added adrenaline from knowing the road race is for a good cause. For this event, he teamed up with ConAgra to raise money to end child hunger.
