The city of Oakland, California is not in harmony with one of its historic churches.
The West Oakland Pleasant Grove Baptist Church recently received a letter from the city threatening to fine the church a $3,500 nuisance fee, and $500 daily, if its gospel choir doesn't quiet down during its practices, according to SFist.
"[This] activity may constitute a public nuisance due to its impact to the use and quiet enjoyment of the surrounding community’s property,” the city's letter states.
The Pleasant Grove congregation said it never received any prior warnings from the city and can't understand how the church's choir could now be seen as a nuisance after so many decades
Lamar Odom is fighting for his life after being found unconscious at Love Ranch South in Nevada on Tuesday.
After the news broke, Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Kim Kardashian West flew out to be by his side. Kylie Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian also traveled to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas as soon as they could to show their support for their former brother-in-law.
Reports say the 35-year-old's condition is getting worse, and that he's had several strokes and suffered from organ failure since being admitted.
On Thursday, out of respect for the ailing athlete, the Kardashian-Jenner brood has collectively decided to take a break from posting on the family apps during this trying time, saying in a statement:
"As a family, we've decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar. Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time."
On Tuesday, Kylie was in the middle of streaming on her platform, when she abruptly ended the transmission after learning about the basketball player's emergency.

This week a 2-year-old in South Carolina found a gun in the back seat of the car he was riding in and accidentally shot his grandmother, who was sitting in the passenger seat. This type of thing happens from time to time: a little kid finds a gun, fires it, and hurts or kills himself or someone else. These cases rarely bubble up to the national level except when someone, like a parent, ends up dead.
But cases like this happen a lot more frequently than you might think. After spending a few hours sifting through news reports, I've found at least 43 instances this year of somebody being shot by a toddler 3 or younger. In 31 of those 43 cases, a toddler found a gun and shot himself or herself.
