invention of vegetable oil processing machine by a group of 5-young covenant university chemical engineering.
This equipment represents a small scale vegetable oil processing plant. The machine is capable of processing over 3,500L or 3 tonnes of cooking oil per year. Vegetable Oil has a highly inelastic demand in the Nigerian market. This means that irrespective of the price, the demand for the product is high especially during the festive seasons. Hence, with a good marketing scheme and adequate utilisation of resources, profit can be made on every litre of oil produced.
The processing of vegetable is done for its high applicability (useful in the production of creams, margarine, mayonnaise, biscuits etc.) unlike crude vegetable oil which is mainly for domestic consumption. Hence, your customers majorly for a vegetable oil processor or refiner are the food industries around your locality. Furthermore, the product is useful because of its medicinal quality compared to the crude vegetable oil. Also, the storage time required for the oil is more compared to the crude oil.
