The punishment that was given to a man who ran away when his wife dead and was dumped at mortuary, was that he had to carry the corpse on his head.
He had ran for three years because he was unable to pay for the mortuary charges for the corpse
, he had deposited the body and ran away.
Finally, he was caught by one of the attendants on the street and he was pleaded to come and remove the corpse, assuring him that he would not pay anything again.
He refused and fight ensured but the attendant would not let him go again because he may disappear and never be seen again.
An eyewitness said, “the man upon realizing that he wouldn’t be let off the hook, kicked the attendant and took to his heels but he was nabbed by an irate crowd who took him to the mortuary where he picked up his wife’s corpse and carried it on his head as no taxi around was willing to help him.
“He was later helped a Keke Napep operator who took pity on him after he saw the dead body lying
