JINJAH on top Boko haram unrest! Weapons Have Arrived - Okonjo-Iweala

Western countries are said to have halted the selling of arms to the country because of their principles, this was as a result of reports by the international human rights groups that the Nigerian military was killing without legal permit in the North-east.
On Tuesday, Okonjo-Iweala while speaking with journalist in Girei, Adamawa state said the country has taken delivery of military equipment to arraign the war.
She said, “New military equipment purchased by the government has arrived. We are hopeful that the insurgency would soon be crushed. We are investing heavily in the war against Boko Haram and we are hopeful it will translate to victory”.
She said the defeat of the Boko Haram militants in Konduga, Borno state by the Nigerian soldiers is a testimony to the ability of the Nigerian military, and that we need to support them.
Although the source of the weapons for the Nigerian soldiers was not mentioned, reports earlier has it that Nigeria was looking up to Russia for the weapon supplies.
Aside the western countries stalling on selling arms, the U.S. has also reportedly blocked Nigeria’s move to purchase fighter jets from Israel.
An attempt to get through a third party in South Africa was entangled in the recent controversy as a private jet with $9.3million in cash was detained by the South African authorities, who said Nigeria did not follow the right and lawful process.
Although some argued that the battle for supremacy between both countries might have been the reason for this.
