New details emerging show Audu did not die because the elections were declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
According to Premium Times, his problems began on Saturday evening when he began complaining of stomach pain.
According to another report,The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Abubakar Audu, who died on Sunday vomited blood before he gave up the ghost.
The media reported that he died of
undisclosed medical reasons.
While some attributed it to heart attack, others speculated different causes.
A close associate said, “He suffered a stroke this morning. Another one occurred this afternoon and that was fatal.”
The source added that the former governor suddenly took ill and was being rushed to Abuja preparatory to being flown abroad when he passed on.
Phillip Obin, one of his media aides, did not answer or return calls. His son also didn't answer or return calls.
He was aged 68
“There is speculation of food poison or spiritual attack but no one can say for now.
“But his family confided in me that blood kept gushing out from his mouth.”
An autopsy is very unlikely as Audu's buried within 24 hours according to Islamic rites.
The governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, passed away on Sunday 23rd November.
