Céline Dion loses brother to cancer two days after husband’s death

René Angélil's funeral will be held at the church where he married Celine Dion.
The 73-year-old music manager's memorial will take place on January 22 at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal.
PEOPLE reports that his obituary reads: ''According to his final wishes, his funeral will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, where 21 years ago, he chose to marry the one who will remain as the great love of his life, the artist for which he had the most respect, the woman who gave him light and happiness until his very last breath.''
René, who acted as a mentor and manager to Celine, had been battling throat cancer since 2013 and his family have encouraged donations to be made to a cancer charity.
The obituary continued: ''The family invites all those who would like to make a contribution to make a donation to the Azar-Angelil Research Chair for ORL Cancer.''

Canada taxi crash leaves at least 2 women unconscious, seriously hurt

Toronto police are investigating a collision involving a taxi that has left at least two women unconscious, one of whom was in her 20s, with serious injuries.
Paramedics transported both women to a trauma centre after the crash at Bathurst Street and Dundas Street West. Emergency crews had to saw off one of the doors of the taxi to get inside it after the call came in at 11:40 a.m. Saturday.
Police have shut down the surrounding streets to investigate what happened.

Television actress Lauren Cohan has reportedly joined the star-studded cast of late hip-hop mogul Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me.
According to reports, the “Walking Dead” hottie is now a part of the growing cast.
Earlier this week Danai Gurira signed on to play Afeni Shakur in the film, and now she’ll be joined by Lauren Cohan, who’s best known for her role as Maggie on AMC’s hit zombie show. Cohan will portray Leila Steinberg, an early mentor of Tupac. Benny Boom is directing All Eyez, which stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. as the influential hip-hop artist. Production is underway on the movie, which does not yet have a release date. (Entertainment Weekly)

i100independent UK report says,A Muslim group from Preston called the Light Foundation is hoping to forge ties with a political party that in the past has expressed more than deep disdain for Islam - the English Defence League.
The offer has been tabled because members of the EDL are planning to march in the city on 20 February.
The Light Foundation, which holds regular 'interfaith dialogues' to allow a stronger understanding between belief sets, also spoke out to dismiss claims in the Daily Mail that Preston has radicalised "no go areas".
And some food and conversation is next on the agenda for the organisation.

It made Ray Smith craft a tiny card with the words, "Will you marry me?" written upon it and hold it up sneakily behind his girlfriend in 148 photographs.
Ray, from Grimsby, proposed to girlfriend Claire Bramley secretly, sneaking the message into selfies and random moments.
It's the soppiest thing ever. But Claire said yes when Ray finally popped the question properly on Christmas Day. So at least it worked.
And Ray was actually quite clever about it. He told his now fiancée that he wanted to document the progress of their baby, and when she wanted to see his pictures, Ray took more than one - omitting the card in the second.
"She nearly caught me a couple of times but I just had to pray it worked," Ray told the Grimsby Telegraph.
"I had no clue, I was totally oblivious to it all," Claire added.
The couple, both 33, have been together since August 2014.

..Mr Farrad will be spending the next 15 and a half years of his life in a federal penitentiary because of a single Facebook post.
BGR news reports that Farrad, born Marvin Buckles, was sentenced on Thursday to 188 months in a Tennessee federal prison following his 2015 conviction of being a felon in possession of a gun after an incriminating post was found on his Facebook timeline.
The longtime criminal was last convicted of federal gun and drug charges back in 2000 after police found firearms and crack cocaine in his possession. Farrad was released from prison after serving out his sentence. Before that, he had a long history of arrests and convictions that began at age 14, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports.
His most recent misstep is likely his saddest, however, as authorities never would have known Farrad was breaking the law had he not posted evidence on Facebook
