miss connecticut usa pageant erin brady
This weekend, Miss USA 2013 Erin Brady will crown her successor at the widely-viewed beauty pageant owned by billionaire Donald Trump.
Before becoming Miss USA, Brady worked an accountant. She told us last year that working as an accountant helped her prepare for the pageant.
While some might consider pageants to be superficial, they actually help teach poise and confidence. They also help tremendously when it comes to interviewing.
What's more is being a titleholder like Miss USA is a job. It requires a lot of work.
In honor of the upcoming event, we decided to do a little research and look up former pageant titleholders who work or have worked in financial services. We were able to find a handful of them.

Investment banker Kerrie Baylis represented Jamaica at the 2013 Miss Universe pageant.

Beats' future with Apple kicks off with this World Cup ad....must read

Beats5s
Beats has just rolled out a cinematic, 5-minute ad in celebration of the upcoming World Cup. It doesn't share the same uncanny timing as the Super Bowl XLVIII Richard Sherman spot, but if you're looking for a perfect showcase of just how culturally powerful the Beats brand has become, this is it. This is what Apple is spending $3 billion on.
The iPhone 5S appears several times through the course of the ad, which follows soccer player Neymar Jr. as he prepares to step under the world's spotlight. "Run like it's the last day of your life," he's told. "Run like you're a crazy man chasing happiness." Several other players are also shown carrying out their pre-game rituals, and the ad perfectly bottles up the fanaticism that surrounds the World Cup — all without ever mentioning it by name. (Beats is not among FIFA's official sponsors or partners.)

And since it's a Beats ad, celebrities are everywhere. You'll see appearances from Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Serena Williams, and Stuart Scott, among others. Oh, and LeBron James too. In fact, Ad Age reports that James approached Beats about participating because he wanted to be in the commercial. The world's best basketball player refused to miss out on a Beats cameo. That says everything. "He's going to be all over the place," a spokesperson told Ad Age. "He's a member of the Beats family." If that's the case, one must wonder how Samsung feels about this relationship. Within just a few months, King James and Beats will be part of Apple's extended family.

6 Best Players to watch out for At The 2014 World Cup

cristiano ronaldo real madrid champions league
The 2014 World Cup kicks off on June 12 when the host Brazil takes on Croatia.
There's just one week until the opening whistle, and if you haven't been paying attention it's time to get up to speed on all the big names you'll be hearing about over the next month.
There are 736 players headed to Brazil. Here are the six best.

1. Lionel Messi

lionel messi champions league goal

Team: Argentina
Why he's so good: His feet are lightning quick and he slips around defenders more seamlessly than anyone in the world. Add supreme vision and an even better nose for goal and you start to get a sense of all Messi's capable of. He's also the only player ever to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or — the award for world player of the year — four times.
Messi dribbles through three defenders and finishes:

2. Cristiano Ronaldo
cristiano ronaldo portugal swedenTeam: Portugal
Why he's so good: Nobody explodes down the wing on a counter-attack quite like Ronaldo, and his dribbling ability isn't half bad, either. And then there's his knuckleballing free kick, which is, in a word, nasty.
A trademark Ronaldo free kick:

3. Luis Suarez
Luis Suarez

Team: Uruguay
Why he's so good: He's one of the world's most polarizing players (with a penchant for biting his opponents), but there's no denying he's a world class striker and lethal finisher from anywhere on the field. He scored 31 goals in 38 matches for Liverpool this season, tying the English Premier League record.
Suarez's volley from 55-yards:

4. Yaya Toure

yaya toure
Team: Ivory Coast
Why he's so good: He's the best holding midfielder in the world, meaning he distributes the ball all over the pitch as well as anyone and does the dirty work defensively, too. He's known for the occasional bombing run forward, and he's deadly from long-range, helping Manchester City capture its second Premier League title in three years in 2013-14.
Toure's stunner from outside the box:

5. Andres Iniesta
iniesta (david ramos_getty)
Team: Spain
Why He's So Good: Iniesta, nicknamed The Illusionist, may very well be the best passer in the world, threading the ball through the smallest of openings for some dazzling assists. He also scored the game-winning goal in the 2010 World Cup Final, which Spain won 1-0 over the Netherlands in South Africa.
Iniesta dances his way through traffic and keeps possession:

6. Franck Ribery
Ribery (Xavier Laine_Getty)
Team: France
Why he's so good: Ribery's a true winger, beating defenders one-on-one down the line and usually playing on the left side so he can cut inside and onto his left foot for a shot on goal. He finished third in Ballon d'Or voting last season (behind Ronaldo and Messi), helping Bayern Munich win five trophies.
Ribery cuts inside and scores against Chelsea:

Our New Favorite; Mad Scientist Builds A Terrifying Wrist-Mounted Flame Thrower In His Garage, check it out!!!

Insane garage mad scientist Colin Furze promised three absurd X-Men themed projects by the end of the month — and man, has he delivered.

First came his ridiculous, automatically extendable Wolverine claws. Then came his Magneto boots, which let him walk upside down across the ceiling. His last project, though, might be the most dangerous of the lot: wrist-mounted flame throwers

Built in homage to flame-tossing baddie Pyro, the system uses a backpack-rigged fueling system that pushes a ton of propane out juuuuust fast enough that Furze doesn’t singe his own digits.

To keep it a bit more accurate to the character (who needed a lighter to spark his flames), Furze’s ridiculous creation requires a bit of two-handed coordination: one hand acts as the lighter, while the other works as the fuel source. This also (theoretically) keeps him from accidentally shooting off that eight-foot flame at something he doesn’t mean to — like, you know, his face. Plus it forces him to take a crazy Dragon Ball Z/Mortal Kombat stance to throw the fire, which really just adds to the effect.

But seriously: don’t do this at home. Even if you have some vague idea of what you’re doing, there’s so, so much that could go wrong here.

Oh, and good news: while Colin originally only promised three character-inspired projects, he says he’s had so “many suggestions for other characters” that he’s pretty sure he’ll do some more

Two peas in pod! that's right...because,this is the first time they're in this form since the comedy on the elevator that almost resulted in something else....thank God it's over as Beyonce and  her sister Solange  were found wearing a  coordinating eye-catching outfits at the Gucci Chime for Change anniversary event on Tuesday, June 3 ; you know what?-- and there was no sign of tension between the sisters at their first public apperance since the  elevator drama!!!
Beyonce, 32, wore a stunning, sexy white jumpsuit with a plunging neckline at the event, which took place at Gucci's Fifth Avenue store in New York City-flagged by Sister Solange, 27, matched in a slinky pair of white pants and a similarly revealing low cut top.

The 20-year-old student who pleaded anonymity disclosed this to journalist during their visit to Shettima, the governor of Borno state at the  Government house in Maiduguri.
The escapee said after they were abducted, the insurgents tore through the forest, avoiding trees and thick shrubs and even when the tyres of the car burst, they kept moving until they got to the place where they said was their destination, adding that there was no visible road leading to the place.
Describing where they were taken to, the escapee said, "The place they took us to after abducting us from the school was all forest with short trees and shrubs everywhere. There is no single building or house there, but there are tents made from plastic sheets in some places. I don’t know if that is where they call Sambisa. Some of the areas are thick and dark; some places have pools of water."
Explaining how she managed to escape, she said it was when they were asked to go and fetch water the next day that she and some other girls summoned courage and ran as fast as they could, far away from their abductors.
"We ran all day, we kept on running until we got to some place where we were assisted by villagers to get home," she said.
According to her, she doubted whether the other girls who are still in being held hostage were comfortable there.
It was reported on May 29 that the Borno State Commissioner for Education, Musa Kubo revealed that a .
The Borno state governor had hosted the Chibok School Girls who were lucky to escape from Boko Haram's den after being .
in different states of the nation, from Abuja to Lagos so as to complete their studies.

hot music coming from--Boy chibzy,a fast rising star to watch out for!

Track M-Boiz-The M-boiz bounce song Features-young-B in this intriguing track  with Running Time- of about 5minutes in all,is a dance able track Having high expectations,  this album is justifiable, with the album art looking like this. They look like a wolf-pack with a vendetta to divide and conquer the concept of beats and vocals. But did all that finesse on the artwork transcend into audio?   The production, was very sound. Chibzy did not only show us the harmony  with his beats, but he delivered commendably. The intro suitably come off as deserving.listen to it plus...

Boko Haram attacked Three Villages In A Fresh Attack

According to reports Yesterday,  we're told that,Boko Haram, once again attacked three villages in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno and almost leveled these villages to nothing.
earlier on Sunday source made it known that this devilish sect killed a lot of people in Ngoshe, Amuda and Attagara, where they had shot nine worshippers to death.
Though, 37 of the attackers were killed by the Attagara villagers who had confronted these men from hell.
This must have angered these terrorists that had forced them to come back in full force to attack Attagara again on Tuesday.
A source said, “The fury was just too much as they(attackers) virtually levelled every structure in the already desolate village.
“Many of our people had already fled knowing that after the killing on Sunday, they (insurgents) would pay another visit.
“The fear came to pass as the insurgents stormed Attagara this(Tuesday) morning but met nobody and in a fury, they set all standing structures in the village on fire.”
Several hours later, an Air Force jet arrived Ngoshe and started dropping bombs around the villages.

but one annoying thing about the whole thing is,while this's going on in Borno state, another form of this evil islamic jihadist are killing people in Nasarawa state,Benue,Kogi and the north central areas disguised and fulani herdsmen,so far many villages in Agatu Local Govenment Areas of Benue state has been under series of attacks, with over 2000 lives and properties destroyed with so many girls raped.this has been for over 6 to 7 months now,so far,no serious attention has been given to the aforementioned areas!
By the look of things, the evil group are making moves to capture many area by shifting people's attention to Borno area, while carrying out secret attack round the country,i think,it'll very wise for Nigerians to look into what's going on in other states, especiall those in the Middle belt region!

Australia Offers Special Forces To Rescue Chibok Girls didn't get any positive feed back from Nigeria, just imagine that!...

In other to rescue the Nigerian kidnapped school girls in Borno State,The Australian authorities on Tuesday offered to deploy the country special forces to help Nigerian government in the Chibok girls find-and-rescue operation.
Speaking with Sky News, Australia Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said that they had not received any clear response to their offer yet.
"We have not had a response from the Nigerian government. They’ve thanked us for our willingness to be involved in trying to rescue the girls but we haven’t had any specific acceptance of the offers that we’ve made."
Leader of Australia Green Party, holding the minority seats in the parliament, Christine Milne expressed shock over the abduction and urged the Nigerian authorities to provide more detailed information available to them before Australia sends troops to Africa. Explaining the request she was quoted saying by Punch:
"Is this just about rescuing the schoolgirls or is this about joining a coalition to take on another terrorist war in sub-Saharan Africa?"
The reference was apparently made to the "terrorist war" in Afghanistan, Premium Times reports.
As we already know,, Borno State. Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau released videos, in which girls were claimed to have been converted to Islam and were shown reciting Koran. World powerful leaders, including Britain,  and France, had previously offered all the necessary assistance to rescue the girls.
Meanwhile Australia was first mentioned in connection with the abduction case some days ago, when information surfaced that  to help with the rescue operation. Davis revealed that some kidnap victims are seriously ill and need medical attention.

Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola makes $398million in 90 days

undefined
According to Forbes Africa, billionaire businessman Femi Otedola made $398million between March 3 to June 2. #Ojigbijigbijigbithings. Hehe. See their report below
Nigerian energy mogul Femi Otedola has become at least $398 million richer between March 3 and June 2 as shares of Forte Oil PLC, a Nigerian Stock Exchange-listed energy distributor, surged 167% in that period.
Forte Oil PLC is primarily engaged in the distribution of petroleum products such as diesel, aviation fuel and Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). The company has over 500 company-owned, dealer-assisted and dealer-developed gas stations spread across the country, oil storage depots in Lagos and Rivers states, a Power plant and a Joint User Hydrant Installation facility in Lagos. The company also sells its own range of automobile lubricants.
On March 3, the company’s stock was trading at N88.4 ($0.55), and at the close of trading today (Monday), its share price was N235.79 ($1.46). According to Akinbamidele Akintola, Vice President, Africa equity sales at Renaissance Capital, the recent unprecedented demand and surge in Forte Oil’s shares may not be unconnected to the company’s recent inclusion in the Morgan Stanley MS +0.13% Capital International (MSCI ) Frontier Market 100 Index. Listing in such indexes usually attracts interest from global investors who track these companies.

Otedola became the largest shareholder in Forte Oil (formerly called African Petroleum) in 2007 when he acquired a 28.7% stake in the company from the government-owned oil company, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for $120 million. He subsequently appointed himself as chairman of the company. Otedola, 47, has gobbled up additional shares over the years and now owns more than 40% of the $1.5 billion (Market Capitalization) company. According to information available from registrar sources, he currently owns 436,809,537 shares valued at N103 billion ($635 million). He pocketed at least $11 million in dividends from profits made by his company in February as Forte Oil paid shareholders a dividend of N4 ($0.0023) per ordinary share from its 2013 profits. A representative for Femi Otedola could not be reached for comment at press time.

Chris brown,I'm never ever going back to jail again!

0513_chris_brown_tmz
Chris Brown is freshly freed and vowing to clean up his life so he never gets thrown behind bars again.

Sources close to Chris tell TMZ ... the singer is making a Lindsay-type pledge -- to stay away from drugs and bad people, especially those connected to gangs.

Chris seems to be blaming part of his problems -- which landed him in jail for 108 days -- on the people with whom he was hanging.  But he's also acknowledging his problems with violence were largely his doing.  Doctors believe his erratic behavior was largely the result of bipolarity.  He's now on meds and doctors say he's now stabilized.

Intel Bets On Surface Pro 3-Like “2-In-1″ Devices, newest stuff in town!

reference 1
Today at the Computex event in Taiwan, Intel unveiled a reference design ’2-in-1′ device, raising the profile of tablet-hybrids. The chip maker, increasingly betting on mobile in the face of a immiserated personal computer market, wants to grow its market share in the tablet industry.
The idea of a ’2-in-1′ — hereafter called 2-1 — is simple: Have a tablet that locks into a keyboard natively, allowing for both touch-first, and keyboard-first experiences. Microsoft has been a long promoter of the concept, sinking billions of dollars into its Surface project.
Most recently, Microsoft released the Surface Pro 3, a device that advanced the concept of a tablet-hybrid, a term I made up to cover devices that attempt both best-in-class tablet and laptop experiences without meaningful sacrifice. The Pro 3, among other useful changes, improved its keyboard and touch-pad, making it a far more viable laptop replacement.
Intel, a company that is presumably loath to watch the the PC market decline, is making a bet that it can advance its tablet efforts and juice PC sales at the same time. Its reference 2-1 design is a attractive device, both thin and light.

What's a Better Word for Selfie?

What's a Better Word for Selfie?

Love it or hate it, the concept of taking a picture of oneself and sharing it with the world is aphenomenon that refuses to die. But for the love of all things holy, can't we find a better name than 'selfie'?
There is, arguably, nothing wrong with self-portraiture; after all, nobody slagged off Rembrandt or van Goch for painting pictures of themselves. But we're not here to argue about the cultural phenomenon, so much as the name it has.
A name that's sickly and juvenile; a name that encourage people to create horribly forced takes on the theme; a name that any adult must surely cringe at whenever they hear it uttered, let alone say it themselves.
"Selfie," you overhear in a bar, assuming that they let in a minor by accident, only to find out it was the 23-year-old in the corner who just doesn't realise there must be a better way. But we can help them, starting here and now.for a complete version of this story, please follow the link here >>>

Here's How Much Every NBA Team Is Worth Based On The Clippers' $2 Billion Price Tag

We recently took a look at how the sale of Los Angeles Clippers is going to change how pro teams' valuations are calculated based on how out-of-whack the $2 billion price tag was compared to the previously perceived value.
Prior to the proposed Clippers sale to Steve Ballmer, the New York Knicks were considered the most valuable team in the NBA at $1.4 billion, according to Forbes. Meanwhile, the Clippers were considered just the 13th most valuable team with a valuation of $575 million.
The overriding implication is that NBA teams in general are worth a lot more than we thought.
