A woman on Georgia's death row could be executed as early as September 29 and now religious leaders have joined her fight.
Kelly Renee Gissendaner is scheduled to be executed on Tuesday, September 29 for killing her husband in 1997.

Over 241 children, women rescued by the Nigerian Troop
The war against terror received a major boost on Wednesday when Nigerian troops captured a member of the highest hierarchy of the Boko Haram group, Bulama Modu, along with 43 other members in Borno State.
Modu, a commander of the Amir cadre, which is the highest organ of the group, was captured when the troops destroyed Janguoriri and Bulatori Camps of the insurgents in northern Borno.
The acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, who confirmed the development, also said

One suicide bomber reportedly detonated explosives inside the mosque and as people fled a second bomber set off explosives at the entrance.

Troops Recover More Villages, seized Weapons from boko haran
Advancing troops along Banki axis cleared more terrorist camps and captured weapons, flags and improvised explosives (IEDs) making devices at Jangolori and Bulaburma villages.
The recovered items have confirmed earlier intelligence that the terrorists often used corrugated metal roofing sheets and bathroom slippers in making improvised explosive devices which affects troops advance.
In addition, it is quite clear that the campaign against the terrorists is yielding the desired result because they are fast running out of arms, ammunition and other logistics.
It is equally important to state and commend the synergy, intelligence and information sharing between our own forces and those of our neighbouring countries under the Multinational Joint Task Force . Consequently, the troops are quite optimistic that the Boko Haram terrorists would be defeated very soon.
The Armed Forces wishes to call on patriotic citizens to please continue to avail troops with information. saying "Our collective effort will continue to lead to more successes until the terrorists are completely defeated.
We however wish to further state as the terrorists are on the run, there is need for more vigilance and security consciousness among all. Consequently, there is need for more alertness among all to pre-empt the terrorists and other criminal elements in the society".

Nigerians Disappointment Over Falae's Abduction
The Social Democratic Party, (SDP), says it is disappointed and worried over the abduction of its National Chairman Olu Falae describing it as a pointer to the lapses in Nigeria’s security network.
National Publicity Secretary of SDP, Abdul Isiaq told newsmen that the party is particularly disturbed by the lack of official statements from the presidency over the matter more that 24 hours after the incident.
He said the plight of Olu Falae an elder statesman who has contributed over forty years of his life to the service and development of his fatherland deserves national attention.
The social democratic party also appealed to the Nigeria police, and other well-meaning citizens to help in securing the release of its national chairman whom he described as a detribalized Nigerian elder statesman and philanthropist.

The federal government is set to abolish the current two systems of grading the nation’s universities and introduce a new one, Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Julius Okojie said.
Okojie stated this in Abuja on Monday at a one-day workshop on review of grading system in Nigerian universities.According to NUC Boss,the existing Benchmark Minimum Academic Standard, BMAS, was allowing individual institutions and disciplines to implement the benchmark policy directive discretionary.
