The Britsh Broadcasting Corporation BBC has announced that for the first time ever, it will air a special edition of 1Xtra Live Lounge focused on Nigerian artistes. The show ‘Live Lounge’ has always been filmed in London. For the first time, this edition will be shot in Lagos, Nigeria. It will feature Wizkid, 2face Idibia, M.I and Eva Alordiah. During Live Lounge, an artist performs songs (mostly original, but sometimes covers of other artistes songs)and backing vocals in a studio setting. This edition is a collaboration between BBC 1Xtra and BBC’s African News and Current Affairs division, designed to improve the BBC’s African content. International artists who have previously featured on BBC Radio and 1Xtra Live Lounge include Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Akon, Justin Timberlake Tinie Tempah Jessie J, Usher, Adele and many more.
