Former Super Eagles coach Clemens Westerhof is having a serious sleepless night over Nigerian striker Uche absence from the squad,report has it that the former coach decide to waded in on the ongoing arguments whether or not Stephen Keshi should take Ikechukwu Uche to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
according to source,Westerhof who helped qualify Nigeria to its first ever World Cup appearance at the 1994 tournament in USA has praised Keshi for the effort he has put into the team.
Speaking on the possible Nigerian players who could light up the World Cup,he said a “terrific player in Spain”among others adding “yes” when asked if he meant Ikechukwu Uche.
Keshi is believed to have sworn not to ever play Ik Uche,after claiming that the player goes against the coach’s instructions and sabotages the team.
“It is bad if Uche behaved like that. If a player did that to me off he goes, I tell you. But sometimes a coach is a father to the whole team” Westerhof was quoted as saying.
He further added that Nigeria has the potential to reach the semifinal of the World Cup if “they make good selection and prepare the team very well.”
