This story has been making the rounds for quite some time now on the internet. The original was released sometime last year. It alleged that a Chinese man, Jian Feng had divorced his wife on the grounds that she had given birth to a very ugly baby girl. The phrase ‘ugly baby’ sounds like an oxymoron as a baby can never be ugly. But anyway this man had sued his wife for damages and had also wanted a divorce.
To begin with he had thought that she was cheating on him. He was sure of her infidelity as he thought that it was impossible for his child to be so bad looking. He thought he could not be the father of this ugly girl baby. This assumption was based on the fact that he was a good looking man. But the fact was that his wife was very good looking too.
A DNA test was conducted as is the norm in infidelity cases. The test conclusively showed that he was indeed the father. The man was perplexed as he was unable to comprehend how a good looking couple can have such an ugly baby. Finally his wife confessed and came out with the long buried secret. Apparently before the couple met, she had undergone cosmetic surgery somewhere in South Korea. She was quite ugly herself to begin with. But after extensive plastic surgery and treatment worth about 100,000 US $ she came out looking as beautiful as she did now.
Now Feng wanted a divorce. He filed for legal separation and also sued his wife for pretending to be something she wasn’t in reality. He also accused her of not revealing to him this dark secret and cheating him into believing that she was naturally so good looking. The best part of this story is the judge sympathized with the man. Feng won the case as the judge agreed with his case and promptly ordered his wife to pay him damages to the tune of 120,000 US $.
In an interview Feng said that he had married his wife because he had loved her beauty. But when his daughter turned out to be so ugly they had serious marital differences. He added that he could barely look at his daughter and this horrified him to a great extent. Now this good looking man is also a very rich man.
Outer beauty and looks are apparently very important to this couple as their pictures suggest. This Chinese couple looks like an oriental version of Ken and Barbie doll. The only hitch is that as far as the wife is concerned it is not natural and she had spent an awesome amount of money to look as beautiful as she is now.
Some version of this story alleges that the couple had two older children and only when the third daughter was born that all these events took place. There is also a picture released on the internet which features a good looking Chinese couple with three not so good looking children. If this is the truth then the man has shown some amount of patience and waited till the third child was born to get to the bottom of the matter.
