With their muscular limbs and rugged handsomeness—not to mention those foreign accents—the players at the 2014 World Cup are the silver lining for those of us who couldn't care less about sports. The global tournament which has been on for some weeks now has left us with these icons, which means, for the next few dayss, it’ll be very hard to escape the fútbol gurus that  surround us. Olivier Giroud
Team: France and Arsenal F.C.
Age: 27
Known for: With his frequently photographed, side-swept hairdo and baby-blue eyes, this Frenchman likes to push the boundaries of the traditionally macho sport and most recently posed shirtless on the cover of French gay magazine Tetu.
Romantic status: He’s been married since 2011, although allegations that he dallied with an American model surfaced earlier this year, causing Giroud to publicly apologize to his family on Twitter.




Gerard Piqué
Team: Spain and FC Barcelona

Cristiano Ronaldo

Known for: The winner of this year’s Ballon d’Or, Ronaldo is currently the highest-paid soccer player in the world, with a salary of $23 million euros per year, plus many lucrative commercial ad campaigns. He also has a reputation for being vain, but when you look like that, can you blame him?
