Celebs Who Should Have Never Tried A Singing Career!!!

Sometimes success in one field can lead to success doing other things. However that was not the case with these stars who thought they could switch over and become rappers and singers.

SHAQUILLE O’NEAL

On the basketball court, Shaquille O’Neal could do it all, except hit a free throw. But then the NBA All-Star decided to branch out and try his hand at making movies and music. While he was entertaining on the silver screen, his attempts at rapping weren’t well received. However that didn’t phase the former Los Angeles Lakers star. Shaq has released five rap albums along with a compilation CD.

EDDIE MURPHY

Eddie Murphy has made millions and millions of people laugh with his stand up routines and comedy movies. And he made even more people laugh after trying his hand at music. Partly done because of a wager with Rick James, the “Beverly Hills Cop” star released the horribly bad but infectious song “Party All The Time in 1985.” Taking his singing career much more serious than anyone thought he would, Murphy would go on to release three music albums and even recorded a duet with Michael Jackson.

KIM KARDASHIAN

Kim Kardashian became famous for being famous but a few years ago the reality star thought she could make it big as an artist. She teamed up with uber producer The-Dream and recorded “Jam (Turn It Up).” After the song was released it was immediately trashed by critics. Kardashian fans weren’t feeling the song either. The accompanying video was scrapped before it had a chance to air but it soon made its way online much to the chagrin of Kardashian.

TYRA BANKS

Tyra Banks had conquered the world of modeling and was looking for other ways to occupy her time when she was ready to become a singer. In 2004, Banks linked up with producer Rodney Jerkins and they created “Shake Ya Body.” However, nobody was shaking anything except their heads at the supermodel’s weak attempt at singing and her newfound career quickly fizzled out.

KOBE BRYANT

Growing up, Kobe Bryant always idolized Michael Jordan and considered him a hero but after finding fame as a Los Angeles Laker, Bryant decided to be more like Shaquille O’Neal and followed in his footsteps into the world of rap. Serious about his career, Bryant spent a summer dedicated to rapping and he released the song “K.O.B.E.,” which featured Tyra Banks singing on the hook. Needless to say, fans were not feeling a rapping Kobe and he went back to basketball.

AMBER ROSE

Dating a couple rappers doesn’t make you a rapper yourself. Amber Rose was best known for being Kanye West’s girlfriend before she moved on to Wiz Khalifa. And even though she was trying to get her modeling career off of the ground, the Philly native decided to step into the world of music. She lent her vocals to a couple songs for her baby daddy Wiz, but Rose also dropped two singles of her very own However, she decided that it would be best to hang up the mic and leave the rapping to her husband so she could focus on being a new mom.

TERRENCE HOWARD
"Terrence Howard pf"
Sure Terrence Howard showed off his rapping skills in the 2006 film “Hustle & Flow.” But there’s a difference between rapping on film and singing in real life. Ready to show off his musical abilities, Howard released an album showing off his softer side in 2008. He dropped the lead single “Love Will Make You Beautiful” but no one cared.
