In a bid to make this year's Independence anniversary In Nigeria a remarkable one,Kunle Afolayan has announced that his new movie October 1 will be premiered on September 28,2014. Following the same approach he adopted during the premiere of his last movie "Phone Swap" the director has also revealed that the event will take place at Eko Hotel and Suites instead of the customary cinema house premiere

Billed to hit the cinemas in Nigeria on October 1, an important date in Nigeria’s history to which the film is also attached in terms of storyline, October 1 is expected to have a fine run at the cinemas, owing to the rave reviews that have followed the few private screenings that have been held so far.
Storyline: It’s September 1960 and Nigeria’s is on the verge of independence from British colonial rule.Bu something happened,such that,A northern Nigerian Police Detective, DAN WAZIRI, is urgently despatched by the Colonial Government to the trading post town of Akote in the Western Region of Nigeria to solve a series of female murders that have struck horror in the hearts and minds of the local community.
Unfortunately,On getting to Akote, more murders are committed. With local tension rising,At this point,its become obvious that, Waziri has a race on his hands to solve the case before even more local women are killed thus,left to accomplish the mission etc...
