Widower Bob Lowe (pictured centre) from Barton-on-Sea in Hampshire, wrote a moving poem dedicated to his late wife Kath, describing the loneliness he feels since her death three years ago from Alzheimers. Ode to Kath begins: 'I am alone, now I know it's true. There was a time when we were two.' Bob, 93, recalls a relationship which survived the Second World War and during their time apart, the couple (pictured left and right in 1945) sent each other photographs inscribed with loving messages and he asked her to be his wife. They were married for 65 years and had three children together. He said the 'bottom fell out of his world' when Kath turned to him one day and asked 'Where's Bob?' and he knew she was ill. Now Bob is a community champion for The Silver Line, a helpline for older people suffering from loneliness.(DailyMail)
