The Ermenegildo Zegna suit. About $22,000. Why so cheap? Because
it’s off-the-rack. Which means you’ll probably have to get it tailored,
so there’s like another eighty bucks.
2. $60,150
The Kiton K-50, from London’s famed Saville Row, flounces in at
$60,150. Though it purportedly offers the lightest and smoothest feel of
any suit, don’t worry—it won’t lighten your wallet. Because if you’re
buying suits like this, we’re guessing you have someone to carry your
wallet for you.
3. $75,000
This sucker’s $75,000 and designed by 27-year-old William
Westmancott. Not sure about you, but aren’t most 27-year-olds just happy
to get their crappy personal webpage up?
This zoot suit sold for $78,000 at Augusta Auctions in NYC in Nov.
2011. Which is about what it costs to buy a whole freaking house in
Schenectady, NY.
5. $95,319
Think 100K is too much to spend on a suit? Fear not! So does
Dormeuil, so they have flintily introduced this Vanquish II suit, a
bargain at $95,319.
6. $101,860
Designed by Alexander Price, this suit not only takes 80 hours to
complete and contains over 5000 individual stitches, its wool is also
taken from two animals you’ve never heard of: the vicuña (think a gilded
llama) and the qiviuk (think a musk ox made from pure money).
7. $892,250
Made by Stuart Hughes of Manchester, England, this bespoke bad boy
goes for a cool $892,250. It’s made of cashmere, wool, silk and… what’s
that other thing? Right. Diamonds. 480 0.5 carat, color G, vs2 quality
diamonds.
8. $1,000,000
Want to look like a million bucks? Easy. Just spend a million
bucks. Frosdick of London has a program that is actually and
un-ironically called “Million Dollar Dandy.” You give them $1,000,000,
they give you 14 bespoke Saville Row suits, 28 bespoke dress shirts, 28
custom silk ties, 14 pairs of shoes, an “elegant selection of smoking
jackets and dressing gowns” and, just because WHY NOT, they’ll throw in a
custom hand built motorcar. And yes, they call it a motorcar.
