THE DOMINANCE OF WORD

Only a few fractions of Christians have recognized the importance of words. One of the reasons is because they do not realize how our tongue carries ‘death and life’. You can choose to release either of them “…Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth” [Proverbs 6:2].What you confess with your mouth will either produce a positive or negative power. According to Gods declaration, you are supposed to read, believe, obey, and speak out the words. Jesus said, “For out of the abundant of the heart the mouth speaketh” [Matt: 12:34].

What you speak reveals what is inside your heart. Jesus said in Matthew 12:35-37, that;
“A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things, and evil man out of evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you that every idle words that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof, in the Day of Judgment. For by your words thou shall be condemned”.
One of the most important foundations of Christianity is confession. The Bible says in Romans 10:10, says that, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” Confession is necessary to salvation.
You become saved when you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. One cannot over-emphasize on the importance of our words. We are admonished to “…hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for He is faithful which hath great recommence of reward… for ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive that promised… cast not away therefore your confidence, the promise” [Hebrew 10:23; 35-36].

Jesus also said in Mark 11:23, that “For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou be cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith”.

If you want to live in victory, you have to learn the importance of positive confession that is based on the scriptures. Confess what the word of God says about you. Refuse to allow Satan to influence your mind with negative attitudes. Jesus came to set you free from the lies of the enemy. He came so that you may be free from poverty, fear, depression, frustration, worry, sickness, sin, defeat and death. Jesus came to give us abundant life; a life of health and prosperity. A life of victory, strength and power: [John 10:10].

God intends for us to be fruitful and to rise above all opposing circumstances and problems through the power of the Holy Spirit to a new life in Christ.
Unfortunately, many Christians are living a life of mediocrity, failure and defeat because they have never realized the importance of living according to the word of God. They fill their mouth with failure, backwardness and redundancy.
There are certain principles concerning our altitude and our confession that God has set which will either produce life, victory and joy or defeat, sickness and death depending on how we operate. In fact, in most cases it is not our problems of circumstances that defeat us, but our attitude towards them.
How we respond to them through our thinking and confession is of great importance. Every Christian need to realize that Satan works through our minds as a result of listening to lying and deceiving spirits. When you make wrong confession you actually give Satan power to defeat you. Wrong confession is the confession of failure, tumult and frustration, the fear of Satan or the fear of what you think that Satan is going to do to you.

Such confession is going to destroy your faith and it is going to put you in bondage. Do not give Satan advantage over you
You have to learn to fill your mind with God’s word and confess it with your mouth. God’s word will transform and renew your mind [Romans 12:2].
ACCURATE CONFESSION AND FAITH
When the word “confess” is used we instinctively think of confessing sin weakness and failure that is the negative side of this subject.
Christianity is called the “great confession”. Confessing is affirming something that we believe. It is testifying of something that we know. It is witnessing for a truth that we have embraced. Confession holds a very large portion in Christianity.
Jesus planned that this great life and love should be given to the world through testimony, that is, through the confession of our lips. Testifiers and witnesses and confessors have been the great leaders in the revolutionary life that Jesus gave to the world.
The major problem that we face then is to know that we are to confess. Our confession centres around several things: first, what God in Christ has wrought for us. Secondly, what God through the word and the Spirit has wrought in us.
Thirdly, what we are to the Father in Christ. And lastly, what God can do through us or what the word will do in our lips.
You cannot confess or witness about things you do not know. It is what you have seen and heard that counts in the courtroom. It is what you know personally about Jesus Christ and about what you are in Christ that counts. How few of us dare to confess to the world what the word declares that we are in Christ! In second Corinthians 5:17, the scripture says, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold all things are become new” what a revolutionary it would be for the Church to make confession like that!

They are just forgiven sinners – not poor, weak, defeated, staggering, sinning Church members. However, they are new creations. Created in Christ Jesus with the life of the living God and his ability in them to perform wonders. What a stir it would make in the Church for to confess that you are absolutely redeemed.

Ephesians 1:7-8, says “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of this grace, wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence”
That would mean that Satan’s dominion has been broken, that he has lost his dominion over your life the moment you became a new creation. You received a new Lord, Jesus Christ, to reign over you. Sickness, sorrow and disease can no longer reign over you. You are a new creation in Christ.
What a great courage could be derived from this scripture: “Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not be dismayed; for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; I will help thee; yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness”:  “If God be for us who can be against us”. [Isa. 41:10, Rom. 831]. That is the most revolutionary thing that has been over taught. That is your confession as you stand before the world. “God is with me every moment”. [Mathew 28:20].
1 John 4:4, says, “Ye are of God little children, and have overcome them: because is he that is in you fearlessly. Say, “God is in me now; the master of creation is in me!”
You face life fearlessly. You know that greater is He that is in you than all the forces that can be arrayed against you. When you are facing enemies that you have no ability to conquer; declare the word of God concerning your victory.
When you are facing financial problems that you do not know how to come out of it; face them fearlessly because the Greater one is on your side.
BY FAITH
Faith, like love is only revealed in action and word. There is no faith without confession. Faith grows with confession. Confession does a lot of things to a believer; it locates him. It fixes the landmark of his life. It mightily affects his spirit, the inner man, when he makes his declaration. For instance, there is Romans 10:9-10, “…that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”
There are two confessions involved here First, a confession of the Lordship of Jesus. And second, that he has become the righteousness of God and he is saved. These are positive confessions.
The reason that the preponderance of Christians, though they are earnest, yet they are weak, is because they need to find what they are in the mind of Father, how He looks up them and then confess it. This can be found in the Epistles. When you find this, you boldly make confession of what the word declares you are in Christ. As you do this, your faith will abound. The reason your faith is throttled and held in bondage is because you have never dared to confess what God says you are.
Remember that your faith never grows beyond your confession. Your daily confession of what is doing for you at the right hand of the Father and what mighty thing the Holy Spirit is doing in you will build a positive, solid faith life. You will not be afraid of any circumstance, or any disease, or any condition. You will fearlessly face life as a winner, conqueror and success. After a while you will find that Romans 8:37 is true, “Nay in all these things we are more than conquerors” you will never be a conqueror until you confess it.
