BREAKING: South Africa goalkeeper and captain Senzo Meyiwa shot dead in Johannesburg

The South African police took to twitter to break the news, breaking protocol to inform the South African people of the keeper's death
South Africa football captain Senzo Meyiwa has been shot dead in Johannesburg, police have said in a statement.
The 27-year-old Meyiwa was a goalkeeper for Orlando Pirates and had captained South Africa in their last four matches in the African Nations Cup qualifiers.He was shot dead when intruders entered his girlfriend's house in Vosloorus, a town 20 miles south of Johannesburg.

He had played in a match yesterday when his side advanced to the semi-finals of the South African League Cup, defeating Ajax Cape Town 4-1. 
And he was pictured looking happy with girlfriend Kelly Khumalo, a South African pop star, earlier on Sunday.   
The police asked for calm after breaking news of the incident in Johannesburg tonight
