According to this report on air this morning,it says An undergraduate student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Akinyele Akintayo, has been sentenced to nine months in prison for internet fraud by a Lagos High Court.
The student was arrested on March 21st, 2014 in Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for being in possession of fraudulent documents which he allegedly intended to use to perpetrate internet fraud by sending messages to one Love Betsey, claiming that his father had deposited the sum of $5.6 million dollars in a hidden box with an insurance company.
The convict was sentenced by Justice Sedoten Ogunsanya after he was found guilty on three counts charge under Section 318 of the Criminals Laws of Lagos, 2011.
