Could we one day see Angelina Jolie moving on from playing detectives and assassins to playing congresswoman or senator?
In an extensive interview with Vanity Fair, the Girl, Interrupted star was asked if she would ever consider running for political office.
Surprisingly, she said
"I am open."
Wow! We've heard others speculate about her chances but we didn't think we'd ever hear Angie herself admit to being open to the possibility!
So what brought on the change? She said:
"When you work as a humanitarian, you are conscious that politics have to be considered. Because if you really want to make an extreme change, then you have a responsibility. But I honestly don't know in what role I would be more useful — I am conscious of what I do for a living, and that [could] make it less possible."
You know what though? Angie being a celeb could actually make her a more effective politician.
She's clearly not in it for the money, so she can't be bribed (or as they call it in politics, "swayed by special interests").
And we know there are no skeletons in her closet because we already know every strange thing she's ever done!
Plus, wouldn't Brad Pitt make the best First Gentleman? Angie for president, we say!
