There's now Normalcy in Nigeria's Gombe after bomb blast


Normalcy has returned to Gombe metropolis, the capital city of Gombe state, North-East Nigeria, following Friday morning’s blast at the terminal of the state Transport Authority, popularly called Gombe-line.
So far three suspects have been arrested by the Police and the area has been cordoned off, while people are back to their normal life

Friday October 31 would indeed be recorded as a black Friday in Gombe, as the usually packed full terminus of the state transport authority aka Gombe line was attacked by suspected terrorists.
At about 9 am local time, an improvised explosive device went off at the park, while passengers were boarding commercial vehicles to various destinations across the country.

The blast left scores of people dead, with many others sustaining various degrees of injury and twelve vehicles torched.
Addressing pressmen at the scene of the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Kudu Nma, said it was unfortunate that such a thing occurred in the state, where peace has always been enjoyed.
Kudu Nma could not ascertain the number of casualties at the moment but a mortuary attendant with the Specialist Hospital confirmed 23 corpses were received from the incident. Similarly, the Federal Teaching hospital received one.

The Police Commissioner however confirmed the arrest of three persons, suspected to be masterminds of the attack, who sneaked into the park in a Volkswagen Sharon bus, with the inscription Yobe line on it.
At the state hospital where confusion rend the air while corpses and the injured were taken, as relations thronged in to look for their
loved ones.
One of the survivours, Joshua Aminu, said he had already boarded a vehicle to Kano, when he heard a loud explosion.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in Gombe metropolis, as people continue to go about their normal activities while the Gombe line park remains closed.
