London Underground's most senior Asian female manager has won £41,000 compensation after she was demoted after being falsely accused of bullying by RMT union boss.
Noordan Jaumdally, 46, became one of only 16 female 'Centurion' managers when she was promoted in 2010 and put in charge of 135 staff.
She was in control of workers at Cannon Street, Tower Hill, Aldgate East, Whitechapel and Bromley-by-Bow
East London Employment Tribunal heard that RMT health and safety rep and station supervisor, Jeff Watson, 'took against her' from their very first meeting . He claimed she had accused him of not working his full shift and launched a campaign to undermine Mrs Jaumdally's authority,
He made repeated claims of harassment and bullying and brought a formal disciplinary complaint.
Mr Watson, who worked for LU for nearly 40 years, then began employment tribunal proceedings against her but dropped them before the case came to court.
Despite being cleared of harassment the LU's internal investigation found there was evidence of bullying from Mrs Jaumdally and moved her to Earl's Court as a trains operations manager.
Mr Watson leaked the results in breach of confidentiality.
In their judgement the East London Employment Tribunal said Mr Watson, who was ordered personally to pay Mrs Jaumdally £15,000 compensation, was unable to produce any evidence of bullying.
They added he 'used London Underground's harassment and bullying policy to raise his complaints against Mrs Jaumdally when there was no evidence to support it.
....but hey, does this has anything to do with being female and/or Asian?
